We're not a school. We don't charge tuition. We don't award degrees. We're a company that invests in training its own workforce.

Apprentices work full days: morning workshops to learn concepts and skills, afternoon project work to apply them. They ship real code. They build real products.

The tech industry has a training problem. Companies want experienced developers but nobody wants to train them. Universities produce graduates with theory but not skills. Bootcamps overpromise and underdeliver.

The apprenticeship model worked for centuries in other trades. A master craftsman takes on an apprentice. The apprentice learns by doing real work under supervision. They start with simple tasks and gradually take on more responsibility.

Software development is a trade. It can be taught this way. We're proving it.

The Name

Lincoln Works. Named for Lincoln, Illinois—home of the only college Abraham Lincoln personally allowed to bear his name.

Lincoln College closed in 2022. We're bringing that campus back to life with a new mission.
